The 2020 Cadillac XT6 SUV will forego aluminum and use more high-strength steel than other SUVs in the Cadillac lineup, making for a more rigid body without adding weight, while also improving ride quality.
The XT6 shares a platform and some underbody elements with the Cadillac XT5, but the addition of high-strength steel to the XT6 is unique. The higher strength of the steel means the XT5 has higher torsional stiffness than other Cadillac models at 34.1.
Torsional stiffness, or rigidity, is associated with better suspension and acoustics, creating a quieter, more refined ride. As a result, the XT6 handles bumps and rough roads better, which means it’s making less noise so you can enjoy its standard Bose® premium eight-speaker audio system. Even loud highways and busy city streets won’t be able to compete with its noise-blocking capabilities.
The high-strength steel is just one of many reasons to get excited about the new Cadillac XT6. This seven-passenger SUV has up to 78.7 cubic feet of cargo space, segment-leading third-row headroom, and a luxurious cabin with premium materials for outstanding comfort, including real wood and leather appointments. Its abundant features and plush interior make it the perfect family SUV.
